Your privacy is important to Quant Group B.V. In this privacy and cookie statement we explain which personal data we may process when you use www.uwbeurs.nl, why we process this data, how long we retain it, with which parties data may be shared and what rights you have.
This statement applies to our website, accounts, newsletters, digital products, reports, events, customer service and other services offered under uwbeurs.nl.
1. Who is responsible for your personal data?
The controller responsible for the processing described in this privacy statement is:
Quant Group B.V.Hildegard von Bingenstraat 44
1081 LH Amsterdam
The Netherlands
Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 42058283
Website: www.uwbeurs.nl
E-mail: info@uwbeurs.nl
Hereinafter Quant Group B.V. is referred to as “Quant Group”, “we”, “us” or “our”.
2. Careful handling of personal data
Quant Group processes personal data carefully and in accordance with applicable privacy legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We strive to process only personal data that is necessary or relevant for the purpose for which it was collected.
We do not automatically use personal data for every conceivable purpose merely because we hold it. Every processing activity must have an appropriate legal basis.
3. What personal data may we process?
Depending on how you use our website or services, we may process various categories of personal data.
This may include, among other things, your first and last name, e-mail address, telephone number, address details, company details, account details, preferences, interests and information you provide to us yourself.
When you use an account, we may process data necessary to manage and secure it.
In the event of a purchase or subscription, we may process data concerning the order, the chosen product, the subscription, invoicing and payment. Payments may be processed wholly or partly through external payment service providers. We do not necessarily receive all payment details, such as complete credit card or bank details.
In addition, we may process technical data, such as your IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, pages visited, date and time of visits, referring pages and technical information about the use of our website.
When you subscribe to newsletters or other communications, we may retain data about your subscription and preferences. Depending on the e-mail technology used, data on delivery, opening and clicking of messages may also be processed.
When you contact us by telephone, e-mail, a form or another communication service, we may retain the content and relevant details of that communication.
4. Data you provide to us yourself
An important part of the personal data we process is received directly from you.
This may occur, for example, when you create an account, purchase a product, subscribe to a newsletter, download a report, complete a form, participate in a webinar or event, ask a question, submit a customer service request or otherwise contact us.
We ask you not to provide us with personal data or confidential data that is not necessary for the purpose for which you contact us.
When you provide us with documents, free text, messages or other content, you are yourself responsible for the data you include therein.
5. Data from other sources
In certain situations, we may obtain personal data from other lawful sources.
This may include, for example, public business information, information from public registers, public company websites, business social networks or information lawfully obtained in the context of a partnership, event or webinar.
Where we have not obtained personal data directly from you, we process it only where a valid legal basis exists for doing so.
Where required by law, we will also inform you about the origin and use of this data.
6. Social media and external accounts
Where our website contains functions that allow you to connect with a social network or another external service, that external party may make data available to us.
Which data this concerns depends on the relevant service, your settings and the consent you have given to that external party.
This may, for example, include your name, user ID, profile picture or other public profile data.
We advise you to consult the privacy settings and privacy statement of the relevant external service.
7. For which purposes do we process personal data?
We may process personal data for supplying and managing our products and services, performing agreements, managing accounts, processing payments and orders, providing reports and digital content and offering customer service.
In addition, data may be used to secure our website and services, to combat fraud and abuse, to investigate technical problems and to further develop our services.
Where legally permitted, we may use data for analyses and statistics that help us better understand how our website and services are used.
We may also process personal data to comply with legal obligations, to keep our records, to establish or defend legal claims and to protect our rights and property.
Separate rules apply to marketing, newsletters, personal offers and certain forms of profiling, as described below.
8. On which legal bases do we process data?
Quant Group processes personal data only where a valid basis exists for doing so.
Depending on the processing, this may be because the processing is necessary for the performance of an agreement with you or for taking steps at your request prior to entering into an agreement.
In other cases, processing may be necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
We may also rely on a legitimate interest, for example for security, fraud prevention, improvement of our services, business administration or the defence of legal interests. Where we rely on this basis, we assess whether our interests outweigh your privacy interests and fundamental rights.
For certain processing activities, we ask for your consent in advance. This may, for example, apply to certain marketing activities, tracking cookies or other processing for which consent is legally required.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at a later time. Withdrawal of consent does not retroactively affect the lawfulness of prior processing.
9. Newsletters and commercial e-mail
When you sign up for a newsletter or other commercial electronic communication, we may process your name, e-mail address, subscription data and communication preferences.
Where prior consent is legally required, we will only send such messages after you have given consent for this.
In situations where the law permits it, we may inform existing customers about our own similar products or services.
Every commercial e-mail contains a simple option to unsubscribe.
When you unsubscribe, we may retain a minimal record of that unsubscription to prevent you from receiving unwanted commercial communications again.
10. Offers from partners
We may only send you commercial messages about products or services of external partners where a valid legal basis exists for doing so.
Where consent is required for this, we ask for it separately.
We will not make your contact details available to external parties solely on the basis of a general sign-up for uwbeurs.nl so that they can independently send you commercial messages, unless you have specifically consented to this or another legal basis applies.
Any consent given for partner communications may be withdrawn at any time.
11. Telephone contact
Where you are a customer or have contacted us, we may approach you by telephone insofar as this is necessary for customer service, performance of an agreement or another lawful purpose.
For commercial telephone approaches we comply with the applicable statutory rules.
Where prior consent is mandatory for commercial telephone approaches, we will only call where such consent has been validly obtained.
Consent given may be withdrawn.
12. Personalisation and profiling
We may use data about your use of our website, your interests and previous interactions to make our services more relevant.
Where this involves the use of tracking technology or other techniques requiring consent, such processing will only take place after that consent has been given.
This may, for example, mean that, depending on your settings and consent, we attempt to determine which content, reports, products or advertisements are likely to be more relevant to you.
Where applicable, you may object to the use of your data for direct marketing.
13. Automated processing and artificial intelligence
Within its operations, Quant Group may use software, automation and artificial intelligence to support, for example, analysis, content processing, customer service, administration or internal activities.
Insofar as personal data is processed in this context, the normal privacy rules continue to apply.
We strive not to make more personal data available to such systems than is necessary for the relevant purpose.
Where external AI, cloud or software providers process personal data on our behalf, they are, where required, treated as a processor or other applicable privacy-law party, and appropriate agreements are made regarding the processing and security of personal data.
It is not Quant Group's policy to take decisions about individuals based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects concerning them or similarly significantly affect them.
Should we apply such automated decision-making in the future, we will inform you about this insofar as required by law.
14. E-mail statistics
We may use techniques that allow us to establish whether an e-mail has been successfully delivered and, insofar as permitted, whether a message has been opened or a link clicked on.
This data may be used to assess the technical operation and relevance of our communications.
Where the use of such technology requires consent, it is only applied where valid consent exists for it.
15. Cookies and similar technology
uwbeurs.nl may use cookies and similar technologies.
A cookie is a small data file that may be stored on or read from your computer, tablet or smartphone via the browser.
We may use various categories of cookies.
- Necessary and functional cookies are intended to make the website function technically, enable security functions and remember certain settings.
- Analytical cookies may be used to gain insight into the functioning and use of the website. Where such cookies have only a limited impact on privacy and meet the statutory conditions, no prior consent may be required for them.
- Preference cookies may be used to remember choices or settings.
- Marketing and tracking cookies may be used to track visitor behaviour, build profiles or better tailor advertisements to interests. Where consent is required for this, these cookies are not placed before you have given consent for them.
Via our cookie settings you can, where applicable, make or adjust your choices.
Declining non-necessary cookies does not, in principle, prevent you from using the necessary parts of the website, although certain additional functions may work differently.
16. Third-party cookies
Certain parts of our website may make use of third-party services, for example for video, analytics, advertising, social media, payment functionality or other external functionality.
Under certain circumstances, these parties may themselves use cookies or similar technology and process personal data.
Where prior consent is necessary for this, such technologies are only activated after you have given consent for them.
Their own privacy terms may apply to the processing carried out by these external parties.
To measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, we use the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. The pixel records, for example, which pages you visit and whether you request our free guide. It is only loaded after you have consented to marketing cookies; you can withdraw that consent at any time via the cookie settings at the bottom of the page.
17. Changing your cookie preferences
Where our website uses cookies for which consent is necessary, you can decline or later withdraw such consent via the available cookie settings.
In addition, you can delete or block cookies via your browser.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before the withdrawal.
18. With whom may we share personal data?
Quant Group may make use of external service providers for its operations.
This may include, among others, suppliers in the fields of hosting, IT, security, e-mail marketing, customer service, payments, administration, analytics, cloud software, communication services and other technical support.
These parties only receive personal data insofar as necessary for their activities.
Where an external service provider processes personal data on behalf of Quant Group, we make agreements, where legally required, regarding the protection, confidentiality and security of this data.
Personal data may also be provided to accountants, advisors, lawyers, supervisory authorities, government bodies or other parties where this is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or to protect a legal interest.
Quant Group does not sell personal data as a standalone commercial product.
19. Payment service providers
When you make a payment, an external payment service provider may be used for this.
This party may process personal data necessary to execute the payment, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations.
For certain processing activities, a payment service provider may itself be a controller.
In that case, we also advise you to consult the privacy statement of the relevant payment service provider.
20. Transfer outside the European Economic Area
Some suppliers we use may be established wholly or partly outside the European Economic Area or may process data there.
Where personal data is processed outside the European Economic Area and the relevant country does not have a level of protection recognised as adequate by the European Commission, we ensure, where required, an appropriate alternative legal basis for transfer and appropriate safeguards.
This may, for example, be achieved through applicable standard contractual clauses or another legally permitted transfer method.
21. How long do we retain personal data?
We do not retain personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is necessary or legally required.
Account data may be retained for the duration of the account and thereafter for an appropriate period where necessary for administration, disputes, fraud prevention or other lawful purposes.
Data forming part of our financial or tax records is retained for the statutory retention period applicable thereto.
Data on interests, marketing preferences and marketing interactions is, in principle, not retained indefinitely. Where appropriate, we apply a period of a maximum of 24 months after the last relevant interaction, unless there is another basis or need to retain this data for longer.
A record of an unsubscription or objection to marketing may be retained for longer insofar as necessary to continue to respect your choice.
We retain correspondence and customer service data for as long as reasonably necessary for answering and handling questions, performance of our services, evidentiary purposes or legal obligations.
Where data is no longer needed, it is deleted or, where appropriate, anonymised.
22. Minors
The services of uwbeurs.nl are, in principle, aimed at adults.
Quant Group does not intend to knowingly collect personal data from persons under the age of 18 without a valid basis for doing so.
If you believe that a minor has provided personal data to us without appropriate consent, you can contact us via info@uwbeurs.nl.
We will investigate the request and take appropriate measures where necessary.
23. Special categories of personal data
Quant Group does not, in principle, intend to collect special categories of personal data through its regular website or services, such as data concerning health, religion, political opinions, ethnic origin, sexual orientation or biometric data.
We ask users not to unnecessarily provide us with such information.
Where the processing of special categories of personal data nevertheless becomes necessary, a legal basis and, where required, an applicable exception to the prohibition on processing will exist for this.
24. Security of personal data
Quant Group takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, unauthorised disclosure and unlawful alteration.
Which measures are appropriate depends, among other things, on the nature of the personal data, the processing, the systems used and the possible privacy risks.
However, no method of digital storage or data transmission can guarantee absolute security.
If you suspect that personal data or your account is insufficiently secured, please contact us as soon as possible via info@uwbeurs.nl.
25. Your privacy rights
Under applicable privacy legislation, you may, depending on the circumstances, have various rights.
- You may ask us for access to the personal data we process about you and to have inaccurate or incomplete personal data corrected.
- Under certain conditions, you may request that personal data be deleted or that its processing be restricted.
- Where the law so provides, you may request to receive personal data you have provided to us in a structured, machine-readable form, or to have it transferred.
- Where we process personal data on the basis of a legitimate interest, you may, under certain circumstances, object to this processing.
- You may object to the processing of personal data for direct marketing. Where such an objection applies, we will stop the relevant direct marketing processing.
- Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
26. Submitting a privacy request
You may send a request relating to your personal data to info@uwbeurs.nl.
We may ask you for additional information where reasonably necessary to verify your identity and to prevent personal data being provided to the wrong person.
We handle requests within the applicable statutory time limit.
In certain circumstances, a request may be refused in whole or in part, for example where a statutory retention obligation precludes deletion. In that case, we will, insofar as required by law, explain why we cannot fulfil the request, or cannot fulfil it in full.
27. Filing a complaint
If you believe that we are not handling your personal data correctly, we ask you to first contact us so that we can investigate your complaint.
In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent privacy supervisory authority.
In the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (Dutch Data Protection Authority).
28. Third-party websites and services
Our website may contain links to websites, apps or services of other organisations.
Quant Group is not responsible for the manner in which these external parties handle personal data.
When you leave our website or make use of an external service, we advise you to consult the privacy statement of that organisation.
29. Changes to this privacy statement
We may amend this privacy and cookie statement where our services, the technology used, legislation or data processing changes.
The most current version is published at www.uwbeurs.nl.
Where a change has significant consequences for the manner in which we process your personal data, we will, where necessary, provide additional information or request renewed consent.
